The troop is volunteering to help at the Brookwood
Spirit Rally (BWSR) bicycle ride in Brookshire on Saturday April 14.
Here are links that describe Brookwood (www.brookwoodcommunity.org) and
the event (http://www.brookwoodcommunity.org/images/2007%20BSR%20Flyer.pdf).

Our volunteer work at BWSR is being rewarded with a significant donation
from the ride organizers that will be used to support Troop activities.
If you are not going to Spring Camporee you need to participate in this
volunteer activity.

Troop 828 is taking charge of two important tasks:

Task 1 - Delivery and pick up of equipment and food/drinks to all seven
Rest Stops along the route.
Task 2 Set up and operation of two Rest Stops

We still need help with both tasks.

Task 1 requires loading gear on Friday night and an early departure to
Brookshire on Saturday morning.
Access to a large pick-up with a tow hitch would be helpful. Work time
would be 2-3 hours on Friday night and 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m . on
Saturday. Scout involvement in this activity will be limited to scouts
whose parents are also involved. Other scouts are needed to work Task 2
described below.

Task 2 requires that we set up tables, ice chests, water jugs, and food
for riders passing through the rest stop. A minimum of six scouts and
two adults per rest stop are required. This effort is primarily for scouts.
It is an opportunity for service hours and a chance to represent Troop
828 to the community. Work time is approximately 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
in the Brookshire area.
