Attention All Patrols!
For the June 12th troop meeting, we'll have the
Water Carnival
event at the Oyster Point pool (1510 Oyster Point
Drive.
See the map.).
We'll begin the fun at 7 p.m. and finish by
8:30. Plan well, bring your swimsuits and towels, and get your game on to win.
Note: If there is bad weather, we'll meet at
the church hall as usual and try this again for June 19.
Water Carnival events include:
- Towel Race
- Two swimmers from each patrol hold a short towel between them and swim free
style the length of the pool.
- Ping Pong Ball Race
- One member from each patrol stands in shoulder deep water and blows a ping
pong ball across the pool.
- Medley Relay
- Four members of each patrol swim in turn - free style, side stroke, back
stroke, breast stroke the length of the pool.
- Underwater Distance Swim
- Swim as far as one can underwater.
- Can You See It?
- Try to read what's written on the bottom of the pool (by cupping air around
your eyes and carefully going to the bottom of the pool).
- Newspaper Race -
One member swims on his back holding the newspaper
out of the water. The patrol with the driest newspaper wins.
