Charlie H.'s write-up:

Scouts, great news from the Camporee!

Fourteen of us enjoyed the weekend under clear cool skies with a very good looking campsite.

We participated in two patrols, the Star Trek United and the Buffalos.

The Buffalos walked off with a third place in the Obstacle Course, a third place in Soccer, and a second place in the Amazing Scout Race.

Mr. Zuniga and Mr. Eberhardt entered the adult cooking contest and won third place with their Italian Birthday Lasagna Surprise.

Another big item is that fifteen of our Scouts were called out for the Order of the Arrow.  These included Michael E, Kyle C, Louie Z, James C, Charlie H, Chris S, Michael T, Vincent C, Matthew R, Zach R, Charlie B, Luke M, Thomas K, Anthony N, and Michael C.  Mr. Cousino is the adult selected by the troop committee for induction.  Additionally, William D completed the requirements for Brotherhood membership.  Congratulations to all!

Thank you to Mr. Zuniga, Mr. Morgan, Mr. Eberhardt, Mr. Cheung, and Mr. Harbin for the

transportation and all your help.

Mr. Morgan's write-up:

Fourteen scouts and five adults attended the Spring Camporee at Bovay Scout Ranch April 7-9, 2006.  Two patrols competed in the patrol competitions and performed admirably, showing great skill, teamwork and spirit.  Saturday's festivities were capped with an Order of the Arrow Callout for new members and a Brotherhood Ceremony.  Fifteen scouts and one adult were called out to join the OA (the largest single group from our troop, ever…) and one scout sealed his membership in Brotherhood.  Our troop attended the Scouts Own Service on Sunday and the awards ceremony where the Buffalo Patrol picked up two third places and a second place and our adults (Mr. Eberhardt and Mr. Zuniga) picked up a third place for their culinary skills: "Italian Birthday Surprise Lasagna."  Great Job Scouts and Scouters!

Tomahawk District Spring Camporee - This campout, focused on patrol and troop competition, will see us visit Sam Houston Area Council's newest camp facility in early April. The camp is about fifteen miles north of Hempstead on Hwy 6, and a little over an hour and a half ride from here. This is the time for patrol competition in several dynamic competitive and fun events.  Learn from other troops' campsite arrangements and gateways.  Show patrol and troop spirit!  Come see who you elected to the Order of the Arrow at the Saturday night campfire.  There's an opportunity for our Ordeal OA members to seal their membership by achieving Brotherhood - now easier than ever.  Always a great time to be had.

When: Friday-Sunday, April 7-9, 2006
