Troop 828's annual "New Scout" campout is a great way for new scouts to
learn many outdoor scouting skills. Many of the requirements for the
Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class ranks will be taught and practiced
during this weekend campout: orienteering, hiking, plant and animal
identification, fire-building, pitching a tent, sleeping in a tent,
knot-tying, personal fitness, use of stoves, knives, axes, etc. This
campout gets new scouts off to a really good start and prepares them for
future camping trips, including summer camp.
When: February 10-12, 2006
Where: Trull Ranch, 200 miles from Sugar Land,
just North of Georgetown, TX.
Who attends: New scouts, last year's new scouts,
parents of new scouts, Troop Guides, Senior Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior
Patrol Leaders, and any scouts needing to fulfill requirements for Tenderfoot,
Second Class and First Class ranks.

sleep in bunks in the trailer houses at the camp. Scouts will sleep on
the floors of the trailers Friday night, and in tents that they pitch Saturday
night. Food will be supplied by the Troop.
