Thirteen scouts and six adults attended the campout at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area (ERSNA) March 24-26, 2006. The troop left St. Laurence at 6:20 pm Friday afternoon and caravanned with Mr. Morrow pulling the troop trailer and arrived at ERSNA at 11:15 pm that evening. The boys and adults set up camp and were in bed by 1:00 am Saturday morning.
All scouts and adults were awake and moving around by 7:30 am Saturday morning. Breakfast was cooked by the boys in patrols. After cleanup the troop was mustered for the hike up Enchanted Rock. The hike to the summit took approximately 30 minutes. The boys explored a cave near the summit and we started our descent. We scaled Little Rock before heading back to camp for lunch. The boys and adults fixed their lunches and cleaned up. The rank advancement classes started at 1:30 pm. The boys worked on most of the remaining Tenderfoot requirements and a couple of newer scouts went on a five mile hike at 3:00 pm. The boys returned at 5:00 pm and prepared, ate and cleaned-up before 6:30 pm. Two of the boys organized a campfire (lantern fire due to burn ban) program and lights were out by 9:00 pm.
The boys and adults were awake by 6:00 am on Sunday morning, broke camp, ate breakfast and were on the road back to Sugar Land by 8:20 am. The caravan arrived at St. Laurence at 12:30 pm. Everyone was a bit tired but had a great time!
