For everyone:
Scouts and scouters under age 40:
All adults age 40 and over and all High Adventure participants (scouts and scouters):
1. Mosquito netting and repellant may be a good idea.
2. Bring suntan lotion (SPF 30 or higher). Use it.
3. It may rain; bring rain gear and keep it with you in your daypack.
4. Bring T-shirts that are scout-related if possible. No inappropriate words or pictures on T-shirts are allowed. Troop T-shirts can be purchased through Mrs. Dierker.
5. Meals on the bus (and at camp) are included in the fees you've paid.
6. Bring your Class-A uniform shirt---wear it on the bus to and from camp. Do not bring the troop neckerchief.
7. Do bring: a day-pack, your scout handbook, notebook, pen or pencil, merit badge pamphlets, a water bottle, bathing suits. (You should make a copy of the rank advancement pages of the scout handbook to keep safely at home, in case the handbook gets lost.)
8. Other items you might want to bring: trash bags or large Ziplocs (for dirty clothes, wet clothes); Desenex or equivalent in case of athlete's foot; Chapstick or equivalent lip balm; pool/shower shoes (shower in these to avoid athlete's foot); extra batteries for flashlight and for personal electronic items; a clothes line and clothes pins to dry wet towels and clothes. Patrols should bring their patrol flag.
9. Parents: read the troop discipline policy and discuss it with your scout.
10. Remember: If you want it back, label it with scout's name and "Troop 828". Fingernail polish or a silver-colored Sharpie marker can be used to mark black materials.
