Mr. Rankin says (Nov 7):
Attached is the
permission slip
for the Webelos Overnighter. As in the past
the first year scout patrols are strongly encouraged to attend this campout.
This year those patrols would be the Vipers and the Buffalos.
If you plan on going on this campout please bring the attached
permission slip
and a check for $15 to the Monday troop meeting.
YIS - Mr. Rankin
As we do every year, Troop 828 will hold our annual Webelos Overnighter campout for up-and-coming Boy Scouts, a campout that gives the Webelos II scout and his family the opportunity to meet our troop and to experience what Boy Scouting is all about. This year, our Webelos Overnighter will be held November 12-14 at Lake Tombigbee on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian reservation. The reservation is located about 100 miles northeast of Sugar Land, 17 miles east of Livingston and 15 miles west of Woodville on U.S. 190. (See a map to the reservation. See a map of the reservation.) For information about the campground, please go to
http://www.alabama-coushatta.com/services/recreational.htm.
The Webelos Overnighter program is designed for Webelos scouts to experience Boy
Scout camping activities. Our activities will include tent setup, fire building,
knot-tying, first aid, Arrow of Light ceremony, and an introduction to the
patrol method, among other things. Parents will have the opportunity to visit
with our Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmasters and other adult leaders, and to
learn more about our program and what we have to offer to our scouts.
We hope you'll join us!
Please contact our Scoutmaster, John Rankin, or our Committee Chair, Joe Knierien, to sign you and your Webelos II scout up for this campout.
