Ad Altare Dei Update

As Troop Religious Emblems Coordinator, I will assist Scouts of all Faiths to locate and begin working on their Faith’s Religious Emblem for Scouting program (almost every denomination has one).  Please contact me if you are interested.
 

If you are Catholic, at least 13 and will have completed the 6th grade by June, 2003 you are eligible to participate in the Ad Altare Dei (At The Altar of God) Program.

 
I will have a kick off meeting to introduce the program on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7:30pm at Mr. Spera's house. 
 
Parents and scouts are required to attend.

Ad Altare Dei.  Joe Spera has recently completed training that will allow him to act as a counselor for the Boy Scout Catholic religious emblem, Ad Altare Dei.  This program will be offered to interested scouts beginning in early June 2003.  It includes a mandatory October retreat and a lock-in next January (2004) at St. Mary's Seminary.  Joe estimates that two meetings per month for eight months will be required to complete the program.  Allowing for summer vacation conflicts, Joe expects that the program will take a full calendar year to complete all requirements.  Scouts should be a minimum of 13 years of age or be in the seventh grade.   Joe can also assist and provide the names of qualified counselors within the Tomahawk District for most of the other religious emblems offered by Boy Scouts.  Please contact Joe should you require further information.
