Troop 828 is chartered by St. Laurence Catholic Parish and was started on February 11, 1991, with nine boys. Of those nine, five earned the rank of Eagle.
The troop is proud of its lifetime total of more than 65 Life Scouts, 88 Star Scouts, 116 First Class Scouts, 141 Second Class Scouts, and 180 Tenderfoot Scouts. The scouts of Troop 828 have, over the years, earned more than 2320 merit badges.
The Scoutmasters have been Ralph Spiga, Bill Ross, Mark Hotze, John Rankin, and John Morrow.

Eagle Scouts
Only about 2% of all Boy Scouts ever achieve the highest rank: Eagle.
As of April, 2007, a total of 47 of our scouts had earned the Eagle rank since the Troop was founded in 1991. Some of them have continued to be active in the Troop and in Boy Scouting and have earned a combined total of nine Eagle Palm awards.
All of you scouts of Troop 828, keep up the hard work, and one day you will find your name on the Troop 828 Eagle Scout plaque!!!
